Eva Swan – It was fun.
Robyn – We don’t want rubbish in our playground.
Finlay – If you don’t clean up your rubbish it will get smelly and make the whole earth smell.
Corin – It was very cold.

Walk To School Week with Nursery

At Nursery last week we took part part in Walk To School week. We formed a ‘Walking bus’ meeting at the bus shelter at the park in the village every morning then walking up to Nursery. The weather stayed fair but it has been very cold!

Boxes wanted – P345

We will be needing 18 cereal boxes in class over the next few weeks. If you finish wih one at home please bring it in for us to re-use. Any will do but ideally average size, nothing too big or small .

We will also be needing 18 other boxes, around A4 size or smaller would be great.

Art in P345 this morning…

Today in art we are printmaking with different shaped stamps. Seb says “it’s awesome”, “I’m trying to print my name” Oliver G, “my pyramid has went a bit wrong, I’ve changed it into a monster” Finlay, “I’m enjoying doing what I want” Oliver M.

We are also sketching different materials that have been found in the woods or on the beach. “I’ve used pine cones and wood to create a bull” Findlay, “I’m drawing a beard by looking carefully at this chunk of wood” Max.

Lastly Maja is teaching others how to create friendship bracelets using embroidery thread, finger crochet, kindness and patience.

Look out in the next few weeks for some of our prints in the foyer in our pop up print shop! More info to follow.

Wordles

Wordles

On the 6^th May Miss McKinnon arrived back from Campie. To remind her about all the great things that have happened in Athelstaneford Miss McKinnon asked us to create some Wordles. For those of you that do not know what Wordles are it is when you paste some words or phrases in to a box and the website makes them into a word cloud. Everyone made one with their own ideas and design. These are now up on the walls all around the school and in Miss McKinnon’s office. We all thoroughly enjoyed this task and many of us have already tried them at home too.

We took our learning outside when we were writing this blog post.

Village Clean-Up Next Week

Village Clean – Up

We are going around the Village to pick up litter, to keep the Village clean. We are picking up litter at the park, Village hall and the Village. The whole School ( including the Nursery ) will be out around the Village on Wednesday and Thursday next week.
