Athelstaneford Primary School

To bring together our work in maths on 2D and 3D shapes we have been working in teams to produce birds-eye plans of the village of Athelstaneford.  Our plans had to include accurately drawn shapes and clear labels, we had to think about the size and position of each building or landmark as we completed our plan.

Today we have a town planner challenge.  In pairs we are going to work with a list of landmarks and buildings and our task is to design our own town.  We are going to think carefully about the size and position of each building but they can be any shape we choose, perhaps we’ll choose a hexagonal school or a triangular post office.  Look out for our plans.
