As part of Eco Week P3, P4/5 and P5/6 had a visit from a company called Generation Science who, among other things, bring the world of science alive through drama. The focus of this drama was a visit from a girl who lived in the future where the world had run out of resources – metals, oil and other fossil fuels had all been used up and there was even a shortage of wood as they could not grow all they needed fast enough. We were taken on a journey in the time machine to see how these resources were made and had our eyes opened to the shortages in the world and how we really need to try to conserve what we have.
This was a fantastic presentation of the issues and gave the children lots of things to think about.
