Mr Devereux’s quick update (#6)

Hello everyone,

Thanks to all of you who asked about my MRI scan. I had it this morning. You lie on a kind of trolley which then slides into a tube that contains all the clever technology. I thought it was a bit like going into a ghost train ride…except there were no ghosts inside!  It can take about half an hour or more.  You can take along a CD of music or an iPod so you don’t get bored while the scan is happening.. The scan gives the doctors a 3D picture that they can spin round on a computer screen – rather like playing a 3D computer game. This will help them find out what they need to do to make me better.

Some people don’t like going into the tube because they feel claustrophobic (they are frightened of being in small spaces) but it was a lot easier than going through St Thomas’s passage at Benmore last year.

Now, on to other stuff…

I’ve added an extra page to the blog which introduces our class.  It also lists the projects we’ve done (our IDL time!) and gives a few clues about what’s coming up later in the year.  Check it out to find out the plans….

If you leave a comment on any of my posts, I’ll leave a reply attached to your comment rather than in my next post - so you’ll have to check out the comments bubble to find it. Another little change is that if you leave me a comment, you’ll find you’ll now get a wee monster avatar.  I thought this would be fun.  Sorry you can’t choose it, but I hope you’ll like it!

Has anyone tried the reaction test yet (see my last update)?

If I’m not back right after half-term, please put on some posts of your own to let me (and everyone else!) know about all the exciting things you’ve been doing with Mr Lloyd.

Have a toptastic holiday,

Mr Devereux

  1. Hi Mr Devareux – Sorry to hear about your back, We hope that you will be back soon to take part in more amazing outdoor adventures with the fantastic P7 pupils.
Just one question…what were you listening too on your IPod? ( a bit like a Desert Island discs question I guess)

Best Wishes from Bill and the Outdoor Learning Team

    • Hello Bill – Thanks for your concern. I’m really looking forward to doing more outdoor adventures with my amazing class. We’re off to Lagganlia in May which will be my first visit to this centre. My answer to your question willl probably surprise the class as I usually play music with a strong beat every morning but I wanted something classical while I was being scanned. The answer is Beethoven’s 9th Symphony. Brilliant!
